For learning and general use

Fraction Calculator provides a free fraction calculator and guides for learning and everyday use. The content is general information. It supports a teacher, a textbook, or your own work, and doesn’t replace them. If a teacher, school or exam board tells you how a problem should be solved or written, follow their instructions.

Accuracy and rounding

We check our rules and worked examples against authoritative math sources and test the calculator on tricky inputs. Even so, errors can happen, and we can’t guarantee that every result or explanation is correct at all times.

Keep in mind how results are shown:

  • The fraction form is the exact result. Decimals for fractions like 1/3 or 1/7 repeat forever, so the decimal on screen is rounded.
  • Percentages may be rounded too. 1/3 is exactly 33 1⁄3%, which displays as 33.3333%.
  • The same value can appear in different forms. 6/8, 3/4, and 0.75 are equal. Check which form your teacher or task asks for.

Always check results that matter, especially for money, construction, measurements, cooking for allergies, or anything involving health or safety.
